The snack item which we can see in all tea shops is Samosa. Most of the people take samosa as evening snack. Evening time will be special if we take tea with samosa. In Chennai there are people who long for samosa and sundal combination. In this video we are going to see whether samosa is healthy or not.
Samosa is made by making dough similar to chappathi dough and folded in triangular shape and stuffing masala. There is Veg and Non-veg samosa Veg Samosa is made by adding boiled potato, onion ,tomato etc.,with added spices. Non- Veg samosa with spiced meat varieties. In India Veg samosa is quite famous.
A small samosa contains 240 calories. The samosa which is made in some shops doesn't contain any nutritious ingredients. There is an ingredient (Potato) which is not suitable for diabetic patients. Samosa affects our health as it is made with maida. The glycemic index present in maida increases the sugar level and cholesterol level.
The dangerous thing is the oil they use to fry samosa. We are not aware which type of oil is used to fry samosa in roadside shops. By reuse the oil again and again hydrogen mix with the food and results in formation of Trans fat. If diabetic patients and blood pressure patients take samosa it will aggravate their problem.
If we take samosa regularly it may cause belly fat and digestion problems. There are chances to get high blood pressure and Diabetics. So by this we may know that samosa is dangerous than other snack items. If you want to eat samosa make it at home in hygienic oil and healthy stuffing. You can use Wheat flour or rice flour instead of maida. It is best to say no to store bought samosa.
